Terrible customer service

I was double charged for one month which brought my bill to over 700 dollars. Then they didnt refund the money they only gave me a credit. Then a month later they said i was never given the credit and it was returned(it wasn't). so i have yet to see the money i was supposed to get back. they were rude, when i asked to speak to a manger they told me he was on vacation, then another person when i called back said he had stepped out...just over terrible

Don't sign up with Pennywise on a variable-rate plane. They will double the rates (or more!) the second month, then tell you the first month was a "promotional" rate, while they still offer the original low rate on their website. My rate jumped from 6.1 to 12.5 from month 1 to month 2!!! Yikes! Then they terminated my power without notifying me. I filed a complaint against them with the Texas Utility Commission.

I used Pennywise Power for 15 months in an apartment. After 12 months were up, I renewed until my lease was over. I canceled my services, then was surprised to receive an extremely high bill one month after I was out of the apartment. And then another 20 days later. I called to find out why, and I had the rudest representative I've ever dealt with pick up. He was condescending beyond belief. In the fine print, the service will begin to go month-to-month after your date is up - and it's expensive. I would HIGHLY encourage you to look elsewhere for electricity. Pennywise is terrible.

Signed up for the service and got report that there was a hard inquiry done by the company to check my credit. This cost me 3 credit points lowering my credit score. I expect a power company to do a soft inquiry, but not a hard inquiry. Only mortgage companies or bank do a hard inquiry. Had I known this before I signed up, I would have chosen another company.
Lower prices than competitors, just as good electricity

I've been using Pennywise since January of this year. This was my first time living alone and choosing my own electricity provider, so I didn't really know where to begin. A woman who works at my apartments recommended that I compare rates at powertochoose.org, so I did that and found that Pennywise offered the best rates in my area. Pennywise has flexible setup dates and so far, everything has been going well. I pay my bill online with no trouble. As far as the bill, my apartment is just under 650 square feet. I live here with my boyfriend who is constantly gaming on a huge screen. We have the A/C on all day, plus we cook often and have our own washer and dryer. Even with all of that, our bill still hasn't hit $80 yet.
